"We aren't puppets" - Thibaut Courtois hits out at La Liga

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is not happy the game against Osasuna was allowed to go ahead despite the bad and has hit out at La Liga for treating them like puppets.

Some La Liga games this weekend were postponed due to bad weather as Storm Filomena caused chaos in Spain. But Madrid was left to travel despite the warnings as La Liga scheduled their game to go ahead. Madrid spent hours in Pamplona on Friday due to a frozen runaway and one could tell in the game against Osasuna as they didn't look sharp.

The game ended goalless and some of the players were not happy with the results as they feel the game should have been postponed. One of them is Thibaut Courtois who spoke with Movistar after the game.

"I want to thank the people of Osasuna for having the pitch like this," Courtois said.

"But it is unfortunate what LaLiga have done to us. We know what the conditions were, and of course, we were able to play, but taking off with the frozen runway and now we can't go home. We are human and now a show."

"We have done what was asked as if we didn't come [to Pamplona] they would have docked three points from us. But I don't think it's safe, we aren't puppets that always have to play.

"We made the effort today, but we have to think about these trips and the logistics needed to return home."

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane also felt the same and labeled the game as not a football match.

"We've handled it badly, we did what we could on this pitch," Zidane said.

"It wasn't a football match. We don't know when we're going to return [to Madrid].

"It wasn't a football match. It should have been suspended. But it's already in the past now.

"The conditions weren't right for a match. I'm repeating myself, but that's how it is."
