Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has given an update on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's injury following the nasty tackle he was subject to during Spurs Semi-final clash against Brentford last night.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was left with a broken Shin-pad and bloody leg. Josh Dasilva was later red-carded by referee Mike Dean following a check on VAR. Mourinho responded by replacing the Denmark international with Japhet Tanganga.
During Mourinho's post-match press conference, the former Manchester United coach gave an update on Hojbjerg injury and also revealed the midfielder is expected to recover quickly.
‘It was for sure a bad tackle because he is bleeding a lot and the shin pad is broken, that is football,’ Mourinho said
‘Dasilva is a young guy and a good player so in the heat of the game there is nothing to be critical of.
‘Mike Dean made the decision on VAR so everything is fine and correct.
‘Pierre has a big cut but he didn’t even want me to play Tanganga in the last five minutes so I believe he can be okay for the weekend.’
Josh Dasilva has however apologized to Hojbjerg after the game on Twitter and the Tottenham player has the perfect response.
Of course you didn’t mean it. So don’t worry. I’m a viking and I am fine. But... You owe me a new shin pad 😇.
