We have to pick ourselves up very quickly - Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has called on his side to pick themselves up quickly and focus on the next challenge after their defeat to RB Leipzig in the Champions League last night.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his boys needed a win last night to qualify for the knock out stage of the Champions League but it was a disappointing night for them as RB Leipzig came to the game with a well-structured plan which began to hurt Manchester United in less than 15 minutes into the game.

The Bundesliga side went ahead in the second minute of the game through on-loan Manchester City man Angelino and the Spanish international wasn't done with Ole and his boys as he assisted RB Leipzig's second goal of the game in the 13th minute.

It became clearer to Ole that it was going to be a long night when Justin Kluivert scored RB Leipzig third in the 69th minute and it was indeed game over. However, Bruno Fernandes started making ways for the Premier League side in the 80th Minute when he slotted home neatly from the penalty spot. It looked like a miracle was going to happen for Manchester United when Ibrahima Konate turned the ball into his own net in the 82nd minute of the game but of course Ole and his boys came to the party too late as item seven '7' was served long ago and it was time for the Referee to bring the party to an end.

Speaking with MUTV after the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer encouraged his boys to look ahead and focus on the game in which they will be facing Manchester City.

“Of course, it’s a flat dressing room, then again, the next game is Man City on Saturday,” Ole said after the full-time whistle.

“So we have to pick ourselves up. We, as coaches, need to pick ourselves up and that’s the name of this game, the nature of this game. This becomes history very quickly and we have to look forward to what we can do about the next one.”

“You want a game as soon as possible,”

“You want a big game. You want something to lift their spirits because it’s not easy. Going out of this tournament is very disappointing. It’s a hard knock to everything. I understand that, but I’m pretty sure we’ll be ready for Saturday again."

”As a footballer, you can’t feel sorry for yourself. You’ve just got to go and feel sorry for yourself for a few minutes tonight and then we’ve got to focus on Saturday. The boys have a massive game on Saturday and that’s the one they’ve got to look forward to and I’m going to look forward to."

Manchester United will now join Premier League side, Arsenal and Tottenham in the Europa League.

  1. It seems Ole is clueless and probably not the right man for Manchester United.
