Head coach of the USL championship side Tula, Michael Nsien is confident that the Super Eagles will excel at the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations.
'Looking at the current group of players, we have the potentials to win the Nations Cup in Cameroon,' Nsien began on a WhatsApp sports page chat with NSM Rebranded
He also praised the crop of players present in the team and observed that the backline still needs improvement to ensure that the team is solid enough to overcome obstacles.
'We have world-class players and quality all over the field. We need to identify a solid back four to ensure that the game is tight.'
He also added that the Nigerian national team coaching crew needs to reinforce the backline of the team as when a team is strong at the back, they avoid losing a game.
'We need players that can shore up things and stay connected as a group.'
He added: 'You don’t lose games when you don’t concede goals.'
The Biennial tournament was originally scheduled to take place from June to July 2021, but CAF made it known that due to unfavorable climate conditions in Cameroon the tournament was then scheduled to take place in January 2021.
Due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, the showpiece was later postponed from January 2021 to January 2022.
