Gattuso delighted to have Victor Osimhen in Napoli

Napoli manager Gennaro Gattuso says he is elated to have Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as part of his team for next season.

The Nigerian international was one of the most sought after players in the transfer market in recent months, but Napoli managed to win his signature ahead of top guns in Europe.

Due to the deadly covid-19 pandemic, French minister Edouard Philippe noted that all sporting events will be barred across the country until September. Due to the cause of this decision, table toppers Paris Saint German were eventually crowned champions while Osimhen's former team  lille were placed fourth in the overall performance this season which will see them play Europa league football next season.

Osimhen scored 13 goals in 27 appearances for Lille in the 2019-20 Ligue 1 season, attracting interest from around top teams in European football.

Gattuso sees the youngest excelling and improving his attack come next season.

“It could be, he has different characteristics than those we had,” the manager said at a press conference, as quoted by Tribal Football.

“He can give us the opportunity to attack spaces,” added the Neapolitan boss. “He has great physical strength and I think he can give us a big hand.”
