Forgotten Nigerian defender finally makes debut for new club

Nigeria right-back Tyrone Ebuehi featured in his first game for FC Twente in their 3-2 win against German second division club Holstein Kiel, in Saturday’s pre-season friendly.

The 2018 World Cup defender was in the starting eleven for FC Twente before he was replaced by Nathangelo Markelo at the start of the second half.

Fellow new signing Danilo marked his debut for Twente with a brace while Alexander Jeremejeff added the third goal.

Dutch Eradivisie outfit FC Twente have announced the signing of Nigerian international Tyrone Ebuehi on a season long loan from Portuguese giants Benfica with an option to buy.

The defender joined Benfica on a five year deal in 2018 after his brilliant world cup performance for Nigerian at the 2018 world cup.

The 24 year old have seen his football career on hold due to long term injuries over the months. Ebuehi have made no appearance for Benfica since joining the outfit.
