Bukayo Saka named in England u21 squad

Bukayo Saka named in England u21 squad

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka was snubbed by England manager Gareth Southgate in his 24-man squad ahead of next month’s Nations League games against Iceland and Denmark.

The team was made known on Tuesday with prominent names listed.

Saka was one of Arsenal’s best players last season after emerging their highest assist provider.

Despite his scorching form for the Gunners, Southgate did not consider him fit for a call up to the senior side.

After the snub, the Arsenal youngster have been called up to the England u21 for next month's European Championship qualifiers against Kosovo and Austria.

Notable names include Eddie Nkeita of Arsenal, Callum Hudson-Odoi of Chelsea amongst others.

The Europa league young player of the season qualifies to play for Nigeria as he is yet to feature for England in a competitive game at senior level.
