The boys showed up - Jurgen Klopp

The boys showed up - Jurgen Klopp, Curtis Jones the hero for Liverpool, Joe Gomez sends a message to Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has praised the performance of his young squad in their win against Everton on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp decided to rest some of his first-team players and field a young side in the win against Everton on Sunday and his selection actually paid off as his boys were able to conquer Everton.

The game ended by a goal to nil and the goal was scored by Curtis Jones a young lad who has only appeared for Liverpool six times since his first-team debut last January.

After the game, Klopp went ahead to applaud the boys and point out their incredible individual performance.

'They played brave football. Unbelievable performances from the kids and adults as well,' Klopp said

'Adam Lallana - what a game, unbelievable. Joe Gomez - organizing the whole defence for maybe the first time in his life.'

'Sensational game and a sensational goal from a Scouser - who could ask for more? You cannot perform like the boys performed if you think you should not perform in that team.'

'They all think like that. I am so happy they all showed up tonight. The only thing I didn't want was a draw. We had to take some risks and it paid off.'

Curtis Jones the goal scorer also described his goal and what was going through his head when the ball came to him.

'The ball came to me and I only had one thing in mind,' He said

'Luckily enough it led to the match-winner and a great goal.'

'It's massive for me and the rest of the young boys. At times it's frustrating thinking you might get a chance but then having to sit on the bench and watch.'

'We proved that we're learning every day and trying to push for a place in the team.'
