Ronald Koeman in deep worries over Netherlands Euro 2020 squad, Netherlands injury blow

Netherlands national team coach Ronald Koeman has expressed his worries over his Euro 2020 squad.

Koeman who is likely to miss Memphis Depay in the tournament due to injury has revealed he hopes the rest of his players stays fit before the start of the tournament later next.

Memphis Depay who has been a regular starter for Koeman since he was appointed as manager picks up an injury while playing for his club Lyon in a Ligue 1 game and is said that he might be sidelined for up to six months meaning he might not be available for selection when the tournament kicks off.

Donyell Malen who was also the likely replacement for Depay has also picked up an injury while playing for PSV Eindhoven and report has it that he might also be sidelined for up to four months.

The injury problem is now a big problem for Ronald Koeman and the Netherlands coach has now revealed he hopes the rest of his players stay fit before the start of the European Championship next year.

'It is well known that Memphis has had an incredibly high return over the last two years, certainly with the Dutch national team, and is a very important player,' Koeman said

'It is a great blow to him and, of course, us too.'

 'A cruciate ligament injury means months of rehabilitation. Some return faster than others but you have to rehabilitate, come back, train, play matches.'

'That all takes time and therefore being ready for the European Championship might be very difficult.'
