Alan Shearer reveals major concern for Liverpool ahead of new Premier League Season

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has revealed major concern for Liverpool ahead of Premier League new season.

It's notable that Liverpool haven't been busy in the transfer window and they only signed Sepp van den Berg and a back-up goalkeeper for Alisson following Simon Mignolet departure.

Speaking with The Sun, Shearer has now revealed a major concern for the last season Champion League winner and also admitted he hopes 'Liverpool doesn't regret not bringing anyone in.'

'For Liverpool, it would have been a disaster not win the Champions League after the season they had, but that confidence will stand them in good stead,' Shearer said

'They haven't made any major signing this summer, yet they believe in what is coming through the system. By all accounts, Rhian Brewster is a special talent who will have a bigger role.'

'My main concern for Liverpool is that City won the title and stregthened even further.'

'That was our big mistake at Blackburn when we won the league, we didn't go out and buy. I hope Liverpool don't live to regret it.'

Alan Shearer also went ahead to reveal the two clubs which will be fighting for the Premier League trophy this season.

And the England international tipped Manchester City or Liverpool to win the trophy come May.

'Without doubt, it will be Liverpool and Manchester City once again fighting it out for the title,' He continued

'The standard of football last year was just incredible from both of them - the runs they went on after Christmas were unreal.'

'I just can't see anyone challenging these two when it comes to lifting the trophy in May.'

'I'm going to stick my neck out here and say Liverpool might just pip City to the league, providing they are more organised in defence than they looked at times on Sunday.'

'Despite City winning the domestic Treble last time, the momentum Liverpool will have from bagging the Champions League will be crucial this season.'
