War of Power

It's war between Arsenal and Manchester City on who is going to sign former United star Jonny Evans.

The bad news is, West Brom new manager Alan Pardew has expressed desire to keep Evans at the club. But Arsenal and Manchester City are still the race to sign the former Manchester United Man.

British tabloid, The Mirror, claims Arsenal Boss has thrown his hat in the ring for the defender this January as he looks to strengthen his defense. However, Wenger faces tough competition from Guardiola for Evans signature, with City trying and failing to bring the ex-United ace to the Etihad last summer.

The good news is Jonny Evans is believed to be keen on leaving West Brom after boss Tony Pulis was sacked ten days ago. Evan's current contract runs until 2019, and the Baggies are preparing to hand him a new deal following his ascent to the captaincy.

New West Brom Alan Pardew is keen to see Evans stay after taking charge this week. But he admits he needs to hear from the player himself.

Pardew statement: "I think the assurance I need is probably from Jonny more than anybody, and I haven't met him yet".

"I'm looking forward to seeing him. I think he's a fabulous player and very important for the club so I will have a good old discussion with him."

Which club should Jonny Evans sign for, Arsenal or City?
