Rafa Benitez reflect on Newcastle win


Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez has reflected on his side win against Burnley on Monday.


It was a good night for Benitez and his boys as they were ahead as early as 23min into the game. Ben Mee of Burnley gifted Newcastle a goal and Ciaran Clark doubled their lead in the 23rd minute.

Sam Vokes got a goal back for Burnley before half time but it was not enough for Burnley as Newcastle were able to hold unto their lead  till the referee blew the final whistle.

Speaking with Sky Sport after the win, Benitez reflected on the game and reveal every game is like a final for him and his boys.

'Every game for us is like a final,' he said

'Winning is massive because it gives us more confidence.'

'There is still a long race ahead but we are doing well and hopefully we can continue like that.'

'We needed  to win and perform well. The players did it and were amazing in terms of effort, organistion and team spirit.'

'We were working in the week trying to manage Burnley's two big centre-forwards and the players did really well.

'The main thing for us is to make sure we can get something out of these games. We have confidence now and the players will continue pushing and working hard.'
